Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We wish you a Happy New Year 2022!
Many of you will have been looking forward to the 5th International Conference on Avian, Herpetological and Exotic Mammal Medicine in the beautiful Hungarian city of Budapest. Unfortunately, the unprecedented spread of SARS-CoV-2 is not under control yet and the viral pandemic still dominates our lives. Omicron, Delta and other virus variants cause uncertainties worldwide, limit travel options and are associated with quarantine restrictions and other inconveniences.
It is with regret that the ICARE Steering Committee – formed by representatives of the European Association of Avian Veterinarians (EAAV), the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), and the European College of Zoological Medicine (ECZM) – in conjunction with the Local Organising Committee have made the difficult decision to switch from an in person/physical conference to a remote/online format: the first online ICARE!
While this may be disappointing for many who wished to meet again in person and network within the framework of a physical conference, this decision will improve the carbon and energy footprint of all participants, lower the registration fees significantly and still enables participants to exchange, learn, and develop, without any risk for their health and safety. You will receive further updates, a revised conference program and further information in the next days. Presenters, Lab Instructors and Registrants will be contacted as soon as possible. Paid fees will be reimbursed or put toward attendance to the virtual conference.
In case of any question please feel free to contact the Local Organising Committee (email@example.com) or the ICARE Steering Committee (firstname.lastname@example.org).
